Pretty Pansies

I made these cards before I went into the hospital. I can not take credit for the design of the pansies. I really do not know the originator of this beautiful flower in the stamping world. Can you believe that it is made using the butterfly punch & reinkers? Yes, it is true! The day my mom & I made these cards we ended up making 16 cards. I learned to create these beautiful flowers from Dawn Olchefske. She has done a wonderful video on these pansies. I hope to be doing my own videos real soon, so stay tuned!

I hope you enjoy today's card!!!

#4 Sept Card Class Card

This card was designed by my upline Jody Moss. She loves the Cardinal Christmas set. We used water color crayons to color the cardinal. One thing we did different though that I had never done was instead of using blender pens to blend the crayons, we used actual water & fine paint brush. I really enjoyed this technique.

Hope you enjoy the card!

Itsy Bitsy Spider

Tonight I decided to make a card trying the ribbon bunching up technique, or so I call it...lol. I'm unsure what the technical term for it is. It was actually easier than I thought it would be. Don't worry customers, we are going to learn this quick & easy technique in class in October. I think it adds some cute dimention when u need a little break in the card.

Mojo 157

Today's Mojo Sketch challenge was a real hard one for me. Here is what I had to work from:

I created the card below from the sketch. I am not sure if I like it or not, but it was the best I could do. This sketch really stretched my mind while trying to come up with the design.

My downline & friend & I do these together over the internet. We talk back & forth to each other with yahoo messenger while working on them. It is a lot of fun & much better than doing them by myself.

Stamps: Punch Potpourri, & Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Rose Red
Card Stock: Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red, Whisper White, & Retired DSP
Extras: Playground Designer Buttons, 1 1/4" Round Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Round Circle Punch, Scallop Border Punch, Pearl, & SNAIL

I hope you enjoy!

Sept Class Card #3

This was the 3rd card my customers made that I cased from Julie Pitta. She is one of the artists that I so enjoy her work. I read her blog quite frequently. I really didn't change much from her card at all. The spiders I found at one of the "danger zone" stores (as I like to call them). When we left workshop yesterday, we all had glitter all over us from this card. Glitter is good! It feeds the soul!

Stamps: Sweet Centers, & Seasonal Sentiments
Ink: Basic Black
Card Stock: Basic Black, Vellum, Whisper White, & Concord Crush
Extras: Big Shot, Spider Web Texture Embossing Plate, 2-Way Glue, Dazzling Diamonds, 1 3/4" Round Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Round Circle Punch, Dimentionals, Tombo Adhesive Glue, & Self Adhesive Spiders

I hope you enjoy this card as much as I do!

Sept CLass Card #2

This was a card I designed using a waterfall design card. It looks very difficult, but really is not. My customers were so surprised at how easy it actually is. The difficult part is cutting all the pieces out. This was the first waterfall card I had ever made myself! I learned from a video by Dawn Griffith.

Stamps: Paisley Prints, & Seasonal Sentiments
Ink: Old Olive, & Pumpkin Pie
Card Stock: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, & Whisper White
Extras: Old Olive 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Gold Brads, Sticky Strip, 1 1/4" Round Circle Punch, Square Lattice Texture Embossing Plate, Big Shot, & Snail

I hope you enjoy!!

Playing with the Big Shot

Tonight I decided to play with some old Rub Ons & the Big Shot. I have been wanting to personalize it for a long time, just never took the time to do so. I have been saving these Rub Ons for a couple years. I used the Love & Happiness Rub Ons from SAB a few years ago, & Hidden Garden Bulk Rub Ons I won at convention when I went 2 years ago. Here is what I came up with.

I had a lot of fun doing this. If you have not tried our Rub On's you should do so today. I have used them from the "other stores" & they do not rub off as well as ours do. If you would like to try some get with me to place your order today!

Tweet Tweet

Oldie but goodie. I pulled this card out of the class book to show you today. We did this at a class probably about a year ago. We used the Shaving Cream technique to make the background on this card. I am thinking of doing my first video soon, & I think I will do the shaving cream technique first. It has been a favorite at several of my classes. Many tell me they have never done it because it sounds complicated. It really isn't if you follow the directions step by step. Keep watching for the video to come out!!

Inks: Kiwi Kiss (retired), Riding Hood Red,Chocolate Chip & Pacific Point
Card Stock: Pacific Point, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, & Glossy White
Stamp Set: Cheep Talk
Extras: Pacific Point Corduroy Brads, Linen Thread, & Shaving Cream

PPA 59 & Clean & Simple 107 Challenges

Where has the week gone? I can't believe it has been over a week since I last posted. We had company in town over the holiday weekend. I never found the time to post.

Today I am back & wanted to do 2 of my favorite challenges, so I combined the 2 into 1 card. The PPA challenge was a color challenge. I was to make a card using Tempting Turqoise, So Saffron, & Old Olive. The Clean & Simple Challenge was using the layout below.

Here is the card that I made using the colors from the PPA Challenge & the Layout from the Clean & Simple Challenge.

I never would have dreamed using these 3 colors together, but I really love them. They are bright & cheery. I used the Inspired by Nature Stamp set for the main stamped imagine.

Leave me a comment if you like my work! I really love comments!!

PPA57 Challenge Card

I got bored last night & decided to do another challenge card. This time I chose Pals Paper Art to do. Here is the sketch that I had to work with:

Here is the card that I created:

I used some retired DSP called Sweet Slumber Specialty Paper. The card base & sentiment is Baja Breeze card stock, & the layer is whisper white. I used the eyelet punch for a border on the DSP. The stamp set I used was a current set called Awash with Flowers. I used Sincere Salutations for the sentiment.

I hope you enjoy the card!

Clean & Simple: 105

Today I completed another challenge. This time I did a Clean & Simple Challenge . This is the sketch for the challenge:

Here the card that I created from this sketch:

I used the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set on this card with the matching butterfly punch. The card base is Cherry Cobbler. I used Pacific Point for the layer & Whisper White. I used Old Olive for the scalloped layer. I first punched out a solid butterfly in Cherry Cobbler, Pacific Point, & Old Olive for the base of the butterfly. Stamped the butterfly & punched it out. Used the Three Flower Punch for the small flower on the top of the butterflies & secured them all together with a gold brad. I used the scallop border bunch on the old olive & layered with Whisper White 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. The just for you stamp is from the Tenney Tiny Wish set. I used the small oval to punch out just for you, & layered with Cherry Cobbler with the large oval punch.

I hope you enjoy!!

Where I have been?

I know I have been absent for 4 days now. I bet you didn't even miss me. I went to my downline, Jessica Sitterly's house in Arkansas. Her first stamp class was on Thursday & she wanted me to be there with her. Here are the cards that we designed together for her class.

Aren't they just darling? I just love the new owl punch, & of course sock monkey is always a favorite to me. On the owl card we used the new Play Date DSP. The card base is Tempting Turquoise. For Mr. Monkey we used the celebrations DSP. Both of these packs of DSP are just gorgeous, with many very pretty designs. To color Mr. Monkey I used crumb cake. I was worried that there would be no color for him since creamy carmel is gone. That is the color I have always used in the past.

I hope you enjoy the cards!

Mojo Monday MOJO153

This is my first Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. For those of you who are new to sketch challenges, you are given a layout to follow & create a card. You can use any stamp set or accessories you want, as long as the layout is the same.

For this challenge I used the Cute as Bug stamp set with Real Red & Basic Black card stock. I used the new square lattice embossing plate. I really like this one. It has such a cool texture to it. I used the Teeny Tiny Wishes for the sentiment & the modern day label punch for the layer.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Party On!!

Hello all my blogging friends! I have insomnia once again & decided to make another card to share. This time I used the Sock Monkey set that I love so much, but I only used the party hat. I saw a similar card made with the Party Hearty set by Angel Walters.

I used Real Red for the card base & Pacific Point for the layer. The DSP is from one of the prints packs that I have had. I rarely think to use this paper. I used the 1 1/4" circle punch to punch out the hats, & 1 3/8" circle punch for the Daffodil Delight layer on the hats. I used the modern label punch to make the real red layer for the sentiment. The Happy Birthday stamp is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set. I really use this set a lot. It has just about everything you would want to say & just the right size.

I have never ever thought of using real red with pacific point before, but with the loss of brilliant blue I wanted a bright blue, so I gave it a shot. I think it goes very well. What do you all think of this color combination?

I hope you all enjoy this card. Keep those comments coming, because they make my day!

Using up old Stuff

Last night I decided to use up some old paper & make a card. I combined 2 cards I saw a long time ago using the retired Cottage DSP. The card base is Orchid Opulance, which is now retired. The stamp set is one of my favorites, A Flower for all Seasons. I used the Beautiful Wings embosslet to make all the pretty butterflies in Rich Razzleberry paper. Mr. frog is colored in Old Olive. The flowers are colored in Rich Razzleberry & Orchid Opulance.

I hope you enjoy!

Lady Bug

Hello everyone! Tonight I bring you a card that I cased from somewhere a long time ago, & do not know from where. If you are the owner or know the owner please let me know for the credit. I am terrible about saving a photo, but not knowing later who the owner was. I am going to try to get better with this.

I just love ladybugs. I even have a lady bug purse. I'll have to get my mom to send me the pic of all of our purses that she made & photographed together. Well, I saw this cute little lady, & knew I just had to make her. I am still only using my I-phone for the pics of everything, so the colors are not quite true to color.
I used certainly celery for the card base & layer, with basic black layer in between. On the real red layer at the bottom I used the pinking hearts border punch. The scallop flower is made by punching out 1 real red 1 3/4" scallop circle, cutting partially towards the center at each scallop, then punching out a 3/4" circle in delightful daffodil (0ne of the new core colors) & attaching over the center. I just used a black maker to make the little dots on the yellow.

For the lady bug I used the extra-large circle to punch the body, the 1/4" punch for its spots, the large oval out of vellum card stock for the wings. 1 1/4" circle for the head & 1/2" circle punch for the antennas.

Thanks for stopping by & Have a great day!!

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

I cased this card from the Stampin' Success magazine, using the new Level I hostess set, Punch Potpurri. I really love this set a lot. I also am using the one of the new core colors, Cherry Cobbler. I love, love, love, this new color. The DSP is from one of the new paper sets for christmas, called Jolly Holiday. The base of the card is Crumb Cake, formally known as Kraft. Another new item that we have that I dearly have fallen in love with is the new pearls that are self adhering. Aren't just the perfect accent to any card? I sure think so.

I hope you have enjoyed my share today!!

My son turned 23 this year & wanted to make him a special card. I pulled out some old DSP that I had from a couple years ago from Azure for the background. The main card stock is Brilliant Blue. The monkey & balloons are all colored with SU Markers. I taped the croquet string on the back of the balloons & snail to hold the strings in his hand. I hope you enjoy!
