Ribbon, or No Ribbon???

I am offering some blog candy this week just for helping me decide if this card needs ribbon or not. I am usually all about more dimension, but just felt this card might stand alone without it.  All you have to do to enter is post a comment telling me which card you like better....with ribbon or without.  If you want 2 chances to win subscribe to  my blog also!  Contest will end this Friday at 8am, so don't miss out!

I created this card casing from someone on Late Night           Stampers.  I am sorry I can not remember the creator, but if you leave a comment to whom you are, I will give u credit     where it is due.   I used the Strawberry from the Tart & Tangy set to stamp first.  Then I masked them, & stamped the swirls from the Baroque Motif set.  I then used the Versa Mark pen & marked up the strawberries and clear embossed them to give them some shine & stand out.  I used Real Red & Old Olive on the strawberries.  My layers are Kiwi Kiss & Whisper White on a Real Red Card Base.

I could not completely decide if it needs the ribbon or not.  What do you all think????

I'm a big fan of ribbon and extra dimension, so I say use the ribbon!

no ribbon... :) I like just seeing the main image and not ribbon "in the way"...

I think it looks fine either way. No ribbon is my preference though

Great card, love it! No ribbon.

Although I'm normally an advocate for adding ribbon to EVERYTHING, I think it looks better without ribbon on this card. Very cute by the way!

I usually like ribbon - but I like your card better without ribbon.

LOVE the card and this is a stamp set I just got! Anyway, I'm like most of the other and I like it better without the ribbon.
I'm off to subscribe to your blog now.
Thanks,

Although I am known as the ribbon queen--in this case I do not feel the ribbon adds to the card. I think the strawberries make the best focal point. Less is more on this card.

I like the card without ribbon best. Pretty card.

Hi, I just subscribed to your blog!

As far as the ribbon question, I think the card looks better without it. Might I make another suggestion? One "rule" of design is to work with an odd number of elements -- so for this reason I think the card with three strawberries looks better balanced than the other.

Joyce

I love ribbon but I think the ribbon is in the wrong place. If you moved it in a bit and made the tails a bit shorter I think it would love good. What a great idea using the Baroque Motif as a vine, I know I am going to have to get that set!!

I like it without the ribbon. It's a beautiful card!

Hi,
I really like both of your cards, but I like the ribbon card better. I also think I'd tie a little piece of red ribbon across the bow of the green ribbon to make the ribbon stand out a little more...

Thanks for the sample - I just bought this set!

I usually say add ribbon -- but not in this case. The card is just beautiful without it and the ribbon doesn't seem to really add anything. Great job and thanks for sharing!

I like it with the ribbon. It adds a little extra touch.

Your card is beautiful, without the ribbon!

Great card either way but I would go with no ribbon.

I love ribbon, but this card is better without the ribbon I think. The ribbon, for me, tends to draw my attention away from the focal point of the card which is beautiful in itself. So no ribbon. Jennifer Eby

I like the card both ways but I think I'm leaning more toward "No ribbon". I think it looks great all by its self. :o)

I like the card without the ribbon. I think the ribbon takes something away from the card.

I think this is a perfectly lovely clean and simple card that doesn't need the ribbon. Either way, though, it is lovely!

I like the ribbon... it makes every ordinary card extraordinary! :)

I would go without ribbon. Love the card as is.

Persinally I like it better with the ribbon. But maybe try it with red, it might be the change you are after. Good luck with your card.

It looks good with a ribbon

without the ribbon....your card looses it semetry and balance with the ribbon. rush8888@att.net and i am following you like a lost kitten.

I usually like to add ribbon, but this time, the green ribbon takes away from the clean look. Maybe red ribbon?? Good luck and thanks for letting us help you.

I love ribbon, but on this card, I say no ribbon. It is gorgeous without, so I say NONE! Thanks for the inspiration.

No ribbon is my vote.

Go with the ribbon...just adds that little bit extra that makes the card

I like the card. I would put ribbon as little bows on the stem part of the strawberry.

I like texture, and I love ribbon, but this card is just perfect without it. Now - a design suggestion. On the card without the ribbon, go back to 3 strawberries. Or add another, it's the rule of odd numbers ;-)

I would say no ribbon...It would be too busy and take away from your focal point...those juicy strawberries...

I like the card without the ribbon.

I like it both ways also, but if I have to pick one - w/o ribbon. That is amazing for mwe to say that because I use ribbon on almost everything.

The ribbon in my opinion!...maybe trim it back just a bit though!....

hope that helps...

I like the card with three strawberries and I would change the ribbon from green to red. If you have some red sheer organdy ribbon, I think that would add a nice pop of color without competing with the strawberries. I would also keep the ribbon tails trimmed short. It's a darling card, thanks for sharing it.

Hi! I just found your blog while surfing around today and am totally loving your creations. I think I like this card without the ribbon as the ribbon sort of takes away from the strawberries a bit. Keep up the fantastic work =)

Normally I'm a ribbon person for sure, however, I think I like the version without the ribbon better. Great cards!! Thanks for the chance to win blog candy as well. Tracy in Michigan, crazyforsu@aol.com

I would say "YES" to some ribbon and maybe a couple rhinestone brads on the swirly design...this is a beautiful card! Great job!

I like ribbon, but I think it takes away from this card instead of adding to it. I like it without the ribbon and with the extra strawberry. Pretty card!

Andi said...

If you really wanted to use ribbon, maybe just a small bow towards the bottom left but otherwise I would go ribbonless.

No ribbon, card's beautiful already. Great job!

The card is beautiful - I like the ribbon, but I would leave it off & put a sentiment on them. On the top card, I would put it to the left of the 2nd strawberry & on the bottom card, I would put in in the top left area.

'There is nothing wrong with a card that a little ribbon can't fix.' In this case, try tying the know higher up and trim the ends much shorter. I think what you may not like about it now is the balance. Great card idea though. And do stick to an odd number of strawberries, also a balance thing. I will have to CASE this one. I never use that stamp set. TFS

With ribbon, definately - I thing it adds a little pizzazz. Very cute either way, though!

I like the card without the ribbon better but use an odd number of strawberries,(odd numbers are balance) but it looks okay with the ribbon also. mdavis74@rochester.rr.com

I like the first one the best with more strawberries and no ribbon. I think the ribbon doesn't do anything for the second card. If you want ribbon on it just tie a small bow and place it on the card toward the top left corner area..or use some small wording like "sweet" or something like that.
