VC Rocks Challenge #5

I made this card for a color challenge over at VC Rocks . The challenge issued was to create a card using at least 3 colors from the Regal family, 1 brown from the Neutral family, & 2 embellishments.

I expected to have more trouble with this challenge than I did. When I started I said to my mom that these were fall colors, but after finishing the card, I feel that they are warm & rich in nature, & not limited to fall. I really like how the card turned out. The design is not mine. I did this design at a stamp camp I went to of my sideline, Barbara Hendrickson's.

The punches used are the 1 1/4" Circle, 3/4" Circle, the Circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. I used Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Cherry Cobbler, & Night of Navy Card Stock. The Sentiment is from the Bring on the Cake set.

I hope you enjoy!!

VC Rocks Challenge

VC Rocks is a new group I joined on Yahoo Groups. It stands for Virtual Convention Rocks. Last weeks challenge was to make a card using at least 2 colors from the soft subtles family with either Early Espresso or Chocolate Chip with either Whisper White, or Very Vanilla.

This turned out to be quite a challenge for me since I am a bold bright person. After finishing my card, I noticed that I ended up choosing 2 of the brightest subtles! Imagine that! I chose Rose Red & Wild Wasabi with Chocolate Chip. I love this little stamp set called Hello Again.

I hope you enjoy!

Dimensions for Nugget Box

I have had several requests for the dimensions for this little Nugget Box. You start by cutting your DSP of choice to 6" x 3". You then score it long ways @ 2 1/2". Turn to the other long side & score again at 2 1/2". Then score on the sideways side @ 2", 2 1/2", 4 1/2", & 5". Fold on all the score lines. Cut Ribbon 5 3/4".

I hope this helps. If you have any questions please let me know.

Projects for May's class

These are the 4 projects that we are doing this month for class.

This first project is a Hershey's Nugget purse. Each little purse holds 2 Nuggets. We will be using the In-color Designer Series Paper, with 4 different color choices. This purse is made with the Concord Crush DSP. I used the 3/4" Circle punch for the closer with a Clear Rhinestone Brad. The handle is made with Whisper White 1/4" grosgrain ribbon.

This 2nd project is a card featuring the new colored embossing powder!!! I used the Wild Wasabi, & Melon Mambo powder for this card. The stamp set used is the Printed Petals set. When the new catty came out I knew I had to have this set. The card is layered with Wild Wasabi card stock & a Melon Mambo card base. The ribbon I used to tie it all together is Whisper White 1/4" grosgrain.

This 3rd project we are using a new technique called polished stone. It is an awesome technique that I just learned also. I promised my classes that I would start trying to include a new technique each month, & this is the one I picked this this month.

This 4th project we are using the Wellness Wishes stamp set. This stamp set is one of my favorites. I know I'm always needing a get well card for someone. Seems to be so much sickness these days. I used Rich Razzleberry ink, card stock, & stripped ribbon. The brad is from the antique brads & I think they are stunning on cards. The card base is made with Crumb Cake. The embossing folder is the Elegant Bouquet.

I hope you enjoyed!!

Another Swap Card

I ended up taking 2 spots in the monkey swap & this is my 2nd card. I'm not sure I am as happy with this one or not. I know I am harder on myself then I should be. I am interested in what you all think. I LOVE the Real Red Glitter paper!! It is a carry over item, so I am hoping that we see more colors in the new catty. A girl can dream can't she?

This monkey stamp I got from a friend of mine who had received a bunch of stamps from a lady that was giving up the hobby....shreeeeek! Can you imagine this? Well, I for 1 can not!

I hope you enjoy!!

Getting Ready for Swaps

I did not participate in the monthly punch art swap last month, but am back on track for May. This months choices are birds, spring theme, trees, or flowers. I chose birds. I know I posted one of these birds some time ago, but I redid her a little with updated colors & am posting her again. Isn't she darling? I hope the participants enjoy her as much as I do.

The 2nd swap I am doing this month is a monkey swap. I have taken 2 spots in the swap. for one I made these sock monkey cards. I also have posted a card similar to this one before. Never hurts to post the good ones again I say. I only had to make 5 of these for the swap.

I hope you enjoy!

Pre-School Graduation

My nephew graduated from pre-school last week! He was the cutest there of course! Well, don't you think he is? He is a ham.

I made this card for his graduation. I know that it is not Stampin' Up!, but the monkey was too cute to pass up. My sister-in-law was not sure what there school colors were, but she thought blue & something, so I chose Real Red to go with the Pacific Point Blue. I used Soft Suede for the monkey himself.

I hope you enjoy!

Well I have fallen off the posting wagon again! I guess it's better late then never that I get back on. Lots has been going on while I have been gone. One of the exciting things that happened while I was gone was our son got married to the most wonderful young lady! Here is a pic of the happy couple!

If you follow my blog then you will remember them from our Disney World trip. We had the best time at the wedding. The kids did most of the wedding planning & decorations themselves.

Here is the card that I made them for their wedding.

I hope you enjoy!!
